We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Accountant to join our client's newly created team. This role involves working for a newly acquired firm in Germany, offering exciting opportunities for growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

• As a Chief Accountant, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy of the company, ensuring long-term sustainability and growth.
• Lead the month-end closing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
• Supervise and manage capitalisation projects, fixed asset management, and accounts payable.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors on tax-related matters and compliance.
• Oversee general ledger accounting and financial reconciliations using MS Dynamics BC.
• Mentor and manage accounting staff (approximately 5 people), fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Create and implement internal accounting guidelines and procedures.
• Handle the preparation of tax returns (with external tax advisory support).

           You will lead a team of 5 colleagues.

Qualifications:

• University degree in Accounting or a relevant field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Chief Accountant or in a similar role within an international manufacturing company.
• Strong leadership skills with proven experience managing accounting teams.
• Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in MS Dynamics BC and other financial systems.
• Experience with tax return preparation is a significant advantage.
